Stamina Test
Unfortunately, I missed the great conditions in 2024 due to my obligations as DARC VHF contest manager. This year I skipped the Dorsten GHZ-Tagung and wanted to enjoy the great rates during the maximum of the sun spot cycle. Unfortunately, nobody told the sun to behave accordingly. So, the goal had been to achieve a 4-digit QSO count. Well, it never materialized. Especially, the conditions of the first night had been quite tough.
- 160m: Totally happy about the 6 QSOs.
- 80m: Worked well up to the Great Lakes. Just heard: MT and CO during my sunrise.
- 40m: In principal hard work, especially when pile-ups concentrate only on a few stations. Great opening Saturday morning to the West Coast, worked CA, OR, WA, and BC easily.
- 20m: Closed at night. In principle more stations workable the 2nd Day but most people stayed at 15m. Missed even: Az
- 15m: Opened to the South only late during Day 2.
- 10m: Just a few QSOs on Day 1. Got better the 2nd Day.
The following US states are missing in my log:
- just heard: ID, NV
- never heard: WY
Conclusion: Still had fun but real stamina had been needed.
